Don’t let bad weather dampen your spirits on moving day.
Today is the day. Your belongings are all packed, the truck is waiting outside, and despite your hopes for clear skies, the forecast is proving accurate. The brewing storm raises concerns about soggy boxes and damaged furniture.
However, moving in adverse weather conditions doesn't have to be an ordeal. Keep in mind that this is our profession. We work tirelessly, 14 hours a day, 364 days a year. Neither rain, snow, nor wind can deter us from our mission. You’re not the only one in need of our services; we also have customers both before and after your move. If you must relocate while the weather is less than ideal, we have strategies in place to safeguard your belongings and maintain your peace of mind.
Although dreary skies may make you anxious about your packed items, cardboard is surprisingly resilient. As long as your boxes are securely taped, the contents should withstand the move. Loose belongings, such as clothes left on hangers, furniture, and artwork, are more vulnerable to the elements. That’s why we recommend using wardrobe boxes and trash bags. We also employ moving blankets, heavy-duty plastic covers, shrink wrap, tarps, and other materials to ensure a smooth move, regardless of rain, hail, or snow.
Wet and slippery surfaces can pose a risk when maneuvering bulky boxes and furniture. To streamline the process and protect your floors, we establish an assembly line at your previous residence. One team member stays inside to hand boxes to another who is outside, ready to load them onto the truck. This approach keeps your floors dry and minimizes your exposure to the inclement weather. Similarly, at your new location, our teams work efficiently both indoors and outdoors to transfer your belongings while keeping mud and moisture at bay.
It’s always wise to have a towel on hand to wipe away any drips we might miss, especially on wooden furniture.
